David's parents are building a house up in Montana and the whole family gets to help out. We spent sometime there in October '09. It was freezing! Already 0 degrees in October, I couldn't believe it.
Living in DC was great, but the best part for me was being able to hang out with my niece Elisabeth all the time. Being her nanny was so much fun and it's what gave me the confidence to know that I could do it with my own baby someday.
This was one of the first of many signs that our truck was falling apart. I don't remember all the specific mechanical jargon, but the gist of it is that while David was driving down the highway this huge piece of metal fell out of our truck, making it impossible for him to do anything but pull over and slow to a stop. A few more broken parts and a decent chunk of money later we have finally bought a new car and we're selling this old truck.
Our summer in DC was amazing! We were able to do so much stuff together! Living so close to the capitol wasn't bad either :) We were able to go to quite of few of the Nationals' baseball games and do almost all there is to do DC in just a few months :)
Don't worry mom, these tats are real :) On our crusie we got awesome airbrushed tattoos! Only problem was that the next day we both got equally awesome and intense sunburns. Our new tattoos spent most of the remainder of our honeymoon covered up to prevent an even more serious burns.
Flashing back to the summer of '09 is when we went on our honeymoon cruise to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. We spent the rest of the summer living in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA. We had a blast visiting all the national sites! We both agree that hands down the spy museum was the most awesome while the postal museum probably couldn't have been more boring.
This is actually one of the two AWESOME vests that I made Marler for Christmas. They took me forever, but I definitley think they were worth it.
We had a lot of firsts together this past winter break and one of the many was making a gingerbread house together. After making a huge mess of our kitchen and living room we finally got it finished.
Tess' very first time sledding!
Here is our first Christmas as a married couple! We had the perfect little Charlie Brown Christmas tree, measuring in at a little over two feet tall.
We figured the best way to start a blog is to begin where our family did. David and i were married April 25, 2009 in the St. George temple.
I know that this is a little late getting going but here it is: OUR FAMILY BLOG! It'll take us a little while to get it fully updated, so you may have to be patient, but I promise it will be worth it :)
